What is Bell and Pig?

We are the Society of St. Antony of Egypt, a religious community rooted in the Anglican/Episcopal tradition and ecumenical in spirit.

Welcome to BELL AND PIG! Here you will find the "official" thoughts of the Society of St. Antony of Egypt, as well as the "not so official" thoughts of its members.

You may be wondering, "Why the name BELL AND PIG?" The bell and the pig are the symbols most closely associated with St. Antony of Egypt, and we wish to honor him as Our Patron by adopting his symbols as our own. The drawing you see here of the "piggy monk" in the scriptorium with his staff, complete with bell propped up near the window, is the artistic creation of one of the members of the Society. We hope you enjoy this little bit of humor as much as we do!
